The Broken Hearts - Amber and Nisha – are a treat for the eyes and ears. A DJ and performance duo, the girls see every show as an opportunity to get dressed up, donning an extensive wardrobe of identical costumes and performing choreographed routines when the pair do live sets. Drawing on the iconography of Weimar Berlin, circus sideshows and the Golden Age of Hollywood, their live shows are a technicolor extravaganza that takes the DJ out from behind the decks and into the spotlight. From the hip club night Rakehell's Revels to the Bethnal Green Working Men's Club, the pair have played a wide range of venues including Tate Britain, The V&A and the ICA in London. The Broken Hearts released their debut double A-side single in December 2007, Black Cat/Blanco and their stylish appearance has led to features in Vogue, i-D, and Nylon.
The 'Broken Hearts Mystery Hour' promises to take listeners on a journey to a land of eclectic tunes and eccentric curiosities that is the Broken Hearts world. Expect to hear artists as varied as Harry Belafonte, Rosemary Clooney, The Ramones and George Formby.
The Broken Hearts are always keen to hear from you! Please email them at qradio@qthemusic.com, marking your email "Broken Hearts" if you have a track you would like to share, or an event you'd like to feature.
